Ratoath Garden Centre was founded by John Lord in 1995. It started off with John selling a very small selection of plants and over the years it has grown to become an award winning garden centre specialising in perennial plants. John started the business to sell unique plants that he found interesting and you can still see that passion for plants in the quality and selection that we have today.

Since 1995, Mad for plants

Over the past 15 years, John has been building show gardens at Ratoath Garden Centre in his free time. His unwavering passion has allowed the gardens to grow and grow to the 2 acres that they are today.

John also shares his love of plants and his no-nonsense approach to gardening on Youtube. Many viewers have said his approach has given them more confidence in their own abilities and has made gardening less daunting and more enjoyable.
